Tips on Writing a Proper Email Sending Your Resume
Tips on Writing a Proper Email Sending Your ResumeA resume is basically the key to success in the present job market, but writing a proper one is not as easy as it sounds. Writing a resume that stands out from the crowd would mean having a few key traits. If you are looking for the kind of resume that the employers look for, here are some tips. Some of these tips are more important than others.Improper email sending your resume can harm you by causing your professional life to be quite chaotic. For one, if the resume goes out to the wrong person, there may be issues arising with hiring practices. Or, you might be rejected from the job for other reasons, like your resume does not match the qualifications needed for the position. It may even be quite difficult to find employment without a proper resume. The next thing to do when you are going to write a resume is to be well organized. This means that you need to put down all the information you want to include in your resume. This inclu des name, contact details, work history, and educational background. So before sending it off, make sure that you have everything ready and put it in an orderly manner.A proper email sending your resume will help you put together all the important pieces and so that it does not look like a random collection of information. When you send it out, make sure that the cover letter is all included in the resume. In fact, one of the key points is to be brief and to the point. There should be only one page, which is good enough for the employer to read. You need to know the right style of resume that would attract the employer's attention. For example, a non-formal style would suit an executive-type role. The next step would be to rewrite the resume completely. If you are dealing with a larger company or an employer, this may not be an option. So you may opt to revise it in a formal format. Now that you have the information, you can use an editor to do some basic editing, edit it to make it g rammatically correct, and then send it off. Before sending your resume, try and have a look at it a few times. The first time you are sending out your resume, you should first read it thoroughly. If you can read and comprehend it properly, the resume can stand the test of time. If you are having any doubts, you can always ask a professional editor.

Tips on Chasing Your Dreams
Tips on Chasing Your Dreams If only you could have the innocence and resilience of your childhood self right now, as a professional chasing after your dreams, then maybe you wouldnât be afraid of getting a few bumps and bruises along the way. Unfortunately, adults remember all those minor setbacks, which is why many professionals would rather settle for a decent paycheck and secure job, rather than risk it all and go after what they want. If you are one of the few who decides to take the road less traveled and dream big, then here are four important things to remember when you feel like turning back. 1. Be patient with yourself and the process. Achieving your dreams isnât going to happen overnight, which is why itâs extremely important to remind yourself to practice patience throughout your journey. You will have times where the going gets almost too tough and you feel like calling it quits, but those are the moments that usually lead to breakthroughs into the next level. Remember, the pyramids werenât built in a day. You donât have to master patience right off the bat. Your tolerance and endurance will build as you mature along your journey. Once you start seeing the payoff of your hard work, youâll begin to understand and appreciate the lessons learned from the good, the bad, and the ugly. Read More: Sabbaticals Are Good for Workers and Employers 2. Understand that failure is a crucial component of success. Part of being patient with yourself and the journey is learning how to accept failures and use what youâve learned to fuel your determination and success. If and when you come face-to-face with failure, recite this Japanese proverb, âFall seven times, stand up eight.â In doing so, you will be reminding yourself that each and every failure is an opportunity to become stronger, wiser, and better equipped for the road ahead. Just as there cannot be light without darkness, there cannot be success without failure. Read More: 3 Ways a College Degree Is Worth Less for Poor Students 3. Know that youâll change during the journey. I would argue that success isnât a destination, like the peak of a mountain, for instance. Instead, success is the entire journey from beginning to end, especially all the hurdles and triumphs you will encounter along the way. Who you are at the beginning of your journey wonât be who you are by the end, because you will learn how to work harder and smarter along the way. Additionally, as you mature and progress in your career, you will see that you will become more efficient and strategic in your work and life. 4. Keep your eye on the prize and your blinders on. Haters are going to hate and it has nothing to do with you or your ambitions. Itâs best to ignore the negativity and simply keep your eye on the prize. Letting the opinions, doubts, and negativity of others influence your life in any capacity is a recipe for disaster, especially when it comes to pursuing your dreams in your career. As young professionals, weâre all so impressionable and eager to prove ourselves in the world that we cling on to every bit of advice and criticism thrown our way. More times than not, this negativity instills fear and doubt in us, and we end up nixing our dreams and taking the easy route â" climbing the corporate ladder to a career that is hardly what we desire. With that said, be open to constructive criticism and inspiring advice along your journey, but be wary of anyone who tries to tell you that your dreams are foolish or unattainable. Blinders up! Read More: Your Boss Should Let You Nap at Work, and Hereâs Why Words of Wisdom Your dreams are your dreams, so donât let anyone tell you that theyâre foolish or impossible. Likewise, donât let a little misstep or failure along the way deter you from continuing your journey, because some of the biggest success stories today attribute their success to failures and rejection that, in turn, pushed them to want to achieve their dreams even more so. Believe in yourself and the skyâs the limit.

5 Strategies To Deal With A Horrible Co-Worker - Work It Daily
5 Strategies To Deal With A Horrible Co-Worker - Work It Daily Understanding The Nature Of Work Bullies Warning! horrible co-worker ahead! Every work place has one. That absolutely impossible, difficult, nasty, backbiting individual who makes it his/her personal mission in life to belittle everyone else and make their life a living hell. Related: 4 Tips For Becoming The Co-Worker Everyone Loves Usually, people like this are also extremely manipulative and good at managing both HR and their own boss. When you're forced to work with or for one of these human porcupines, here are some strategies that will help you escape the worst of the pokes. Understanding The Nature Of Work Bullies To begin, you need to understand how this person got to this place in the first place. Itâs a little bit nature and a little bit nurture. Every once in awhile this personality type is just plain mean through and through. However, usually nasty behavior stems from a deep personal insecurity about themselves or their ability to perform their job. Maybe they feel they arenât good enough; maybe they never got an âAâ in school; maybe their mom beat them as a child (seriously). For whatever reason, they feel inferior and by making you miserable they are bringing you down, too. They get perverse satisfaction by doing this. Itâs a vandalâs mentality. Smashing nice things that belong to others is fun. How To Deal With A Horrible Co-Worker If they are truly horrible they also chase much of the competition for their job and vertical promotions away. This only makes them even more horrible because they now see concrete rewards for their bad behavior. Before you know it, all office etiquette is thrown out the window and there is an office monster on the loose. 1. Killing Porcupines With Kindness The number one best strategy for dealing with a horrible co-worker is to kill them with kindness. For every exasperated sigh, provide a smile. For every accusatory rant and rave, provide a calm understanding response. Always stand your ground but donât react to their nastiness. After the first or second time you throw kindness in their face, the bad behavior should stop. Best of all, you will get a euphoric feeling inside, âAHA, Iâve controlled the beast.â This will make it easier and easier to keep your calm when confronted with accusations, back stabbing campaigns and ghastly behavior. Best yet, if they keep it up you will make them look like an utter fool. 2. Physically Remove Yourself Whenever Possible This doesnât mean transfer departments, it means being aware of a negative environment and removing yourself from it. You wouldnât work outside in a snowstorm unless you had to. Why work next to a human tornado? If you have a flexible working environment, it will be easier for you to focus on your job if you arenât constantly upset and trying to manage the work bully. There is a lot to say for out of sight, out of mind. Even noise reduction headphones (turned on or off) can do wonders. Make it clear to your boss that you can be found at all times in your new alternate location. Donât ever give up your territory - just be somewhere else a lot of the time. 3. Donât Get Mad, Get Even Whenever emotions take over the brain it is almost impossible to think logically and make good decisions. Realize you need to manage your own responses as much as managing the work bully. An easy way to do this is to lay future fantasy plans about ways to get even with the work bully. With every snide remark you can add another imagined revenge. In all likelihood, you will never actually follow through on any of your plans, but if you bide your time there may come a point when you can inflict massive and substantial damage to the work bully and seriously undermine their career. Revenge like this is unbelievably sweet. This sounds evil, but think of all the poor future souls you will be protecting. 4. Manage The Tiger, But Never Trust Him/Her Often the work bully will respond favorably to your kindness and afterwards try to befriend you. No matter how tempting this is (you might actually really come to like them), never trust the Tiger. This is a professional relationship, let it become more and donât be surprised if you get bitten. 5. Avoid Engaging In Teams Of People Against The Bully The camaraderie may be nice and the nasty battle-ax deserves it, but this type of behavior is unprofessional and against all normal office etiquette. In addition, bullies are uncommonly good at staving off attacks. Fighting is what they do best. Donât assume you and your comrades will end up winning the war. Don't let a nasty co-worker bring you down. Follow these tips and be the better office mate! This post was originally published at an earlier date. It Cost Me 65k 6 Women Share Their Worst Financial Decisions
It Cost Me 65k 6 Women Share Their Worst Financial Decisions If youre worried about your finances, youre certainly not alone. In fact, therbeie are tons of scary statistics that demonstrate the many ways in which finances stress out the majority of us.For one, only 24 percent of millennials demonstrate basic financial literacy, according to a study from the National Endowment for Financial Education. Meanwhile, about 77 million Americans with credit (35 percent of adults) have debt in collections, according to the Urban Institute. And nearly one-third of Americans pay just the tiefpunkt amount due on their credit card bills each month, according to FINRAs National Financial Capability Study. And new research suggests that women have to worry even mora about their finances than men. A new survey from angeschlossen lender Laurel Road identifies major gender disparities when it comes to financial education, fiscal confidence and savings amounts (both retirement and emergency funds). Only 38 percent of working women asked for a raise in 2018, versus 58 percent of men. And of those who asked, only 86 percent were successful, versus 95 percent of men. To make matters worse, women (37 percent) are roughly twice as likely as men (20 percent) to not have any retirement savings, and they save $123,000 less on average. As such, only 66 percent of women report having an emergency fund, versus 82 percent of males. That all said, 90 percent of women reported personal finance proactivity like investing, meeting with financial advisors, negotiating salaries and taking courses in 2019, versus only 83 percent of women who did the same in 2018. So, while its no surprise that many women live with financial regrets, the statistics show that theyre hoping to avoid repeating their mistakes. We spoke with six women whove shared their biggest financial woes situations that have cost them thousands. Heres what they had to say.1. Racking up credit card debt.Hands down, what I regret most i s not understanding how credit cards work, says filmmaker, Faleena Hopkins. I paid the minimum for years without understanding compound interest, that it wasnt just 20 percent APR for that year, but again and again for every year, piling up how much I owed into a zillion times more than what I bought. She says the pileup weighed down her whole life, until she finally made a plan to pay off each card. Now I live under my means and pay the balance in full every month on only one card, a rewards card with points I use to buy stuff, she says. Since I no longer pay interest, the credits cards are now paying me (with those points). They have a term for customers like me and its ironically, a deadbeat because I dont make them any money. It feels amazing to be a deadbeat2. bedrngnis investing in real estate sooner. My biggest financial regret is not investing in real estate sooner, says Jacqueline, the founder of personal finance site, Mom Money Map. We bought our house in 2014. Its since appr eciated by over 50 percent in value. We were able to take out the appreciated value and invest it in a rental property, which is now generating regular cash flow. If we had bought our house even just one or two years earlier, our house would have appreciated by over 100 percent in value because the market went up so fast.3. Failing to research higher education programs. One of my biggest financial mistakes was actually a combination of mistakes that cost me over $65,000, says Katelyn of Debt and Cupcakes. To begin, I decided to go to an out-of-state university to obtain my degree in Nursing (BSN). The decision to go to an out-of-state college was extremely expensive and the majority of the cost was covered by student loans. This decision forced me to graduate from college with more than $65,000 in student loan debt.At the time, she says she was completely unaware that a local hospital offered a two-year diploma program that would allow her to obtain the exact same nursing license, a nd would have cost exponentially less. The thing about a nursing degree is that all RNs take the same national certification exam, obtain the exact same license, and work in the same capacity regardless of their four- or two-year degree, she explains. My BSN didnt offer me an increased starting salary, and my BSN didnt provide me any additional opportunities out of the gate. To make matters worse, once I obtained my first job, I realized that most hospitals and healthcare organizations will pay for 100 percent of continuing education costs. Had I known this, I would have saved tens of thousands of dollars and years of student loan payments.4. Not pursuing real-world experiences faster.I have so many financial regrets, but my biggest is getting a college education instead of realizing that working for free for that many years would have gotten me to where I am today faster, says Anne Jordan. It would have been cheaper to work as an unpaid intern for a couple of years and get work expe rience so that I could move up. An education hardly opened doors for me, and has put me in debt until I die.5. Irresponsibly spending too much money. My biggest financial regrets are that I spent too much money on partying and didnt save, says Erica Knight. I then paid for my own wedding, followed two years later by paying for my own divorce. As a result, I have debts rather than savings and dont own my own house.6. Not investing.Over a decade later, I still kick myself for not appropriately investing my residual check money from college, says Tenesha L. Curtis, CEO at volontariat Press. The nearly $10,000 (over the course of four years) I received as a bonus when my scholarships, grants and loans overshot my tuition needs meant that I could have put that money into leasing a piece of commercial real estate, putting a down payment on a rental property, or advertising my writing services in order to start generating an income from new clients. Instead, I went on trips and purchased ot her frivolous things like new cell phones and fancy computers.Curtis recommends always using windfalls of cash to either save in a high-interest account or invest in a money-making opportunity that can guarantee a return, such as real estate.--AnnaMarie Houlis is a feminist, a freelance journalist and an adventure aficionado with an affinity for impulsive solo travel. How Collaborative Hiring Benefits Your Business - Spark Hire
How Collaborative Hiring Benefits Your Business - Spark HireGone are the days of one hiring manager sitting down and going through interview after interview to find the perfect candidate for an open position. Today, businesses are becoming increasingly interested in a collaborative hiring model. Collaborative hiring gets more gruppe members involved in the process. There are a number of perks to using this style of hiring. Some of the major benefits includeYou get a range of opinionsWhen you have just one hiring manager weighing in, its easier for skewed opinions to cloud a hiring decision. A candidate who rubs the hiring manager the wrong way could fail to receive an offer, even if they actually are the best person for the job. When a whole team is involved, other people are able to voice their thoughts, making it more likely that the final choice is a good one.It puts less pressure on one personFilling an open spot can be a lot of pressure for one person, particularly when youre tr ying to find someone to fill an integral role in the business. When you involve multiple team members, it allows the hiring manager to relax a bit.You get to see the dynamic between the candidate and their potential colleaguesIf your hire will be working closely with a certain group of people, its ideal to bring them in and have the group interact. This way, you know ahead of time whether everyone gets along. If theres a major problem, you can go with a different candidate, instead of finding out after the new team member is causing tension in the office. It reminds employees that you value their opinionsEmployee morale is significantly increased when your staff members are reminded that their opinions matter. When you let them weigh in on the hiring process, it reinforces the notion that you care about what they think.Your employees can help to sell the company to the candidateWhile the candidate needs to sell why theyd be a valuable member of the team, youll also need to sell your business to them at the same time. When you have happy, engaged employees participating in the interview process, selling your company to a potential new hire becomes much easier. The candidate is able to experience the company culture and see the type of future theyd have should they accept an offer from your business.Collaborative hiring can also help make the training process smoother. When team members are involved in the hiring process, they often feel more responsible for the new hire, and are more likely to help them get up to speed quickly. This cuts down on the learning curve that inevitably exists when someone starts a new job.Image Wavebreak Media Ltd/BigStock.com
